The publication is to assist high school counselors, teachers and students in better understanding the career opportunities available in the Texas marine industry. It provides background information and descriptions of jobs in various Texas marine industries, as well as information about the training needed to enter particular positions. The main focus is on vocational-technical training for immediate entry into the marine industry. Some job opportunities discussed in this publication may require a college degree, but most require a high school diploma and some technical or on-the-job training within the marine industry.
