The overall goal and objectives which the Kankakee-Iroquois Regional Planning Commission has established in its program to enhance economic development in the region will be to promote economic growth both industrial and commercial in the Kankakee-Iroquois four county areas. The Kankakee-Iroquois Regional Planning Commission is made up of two small cities and fourteen towns with the largest city having a population of 5,000. The region is very rural in nature with limited financial resources to provide part or full time professional staff to promote economic development. This report will identify program accomplishments that have occurred due to the EDA funded 304 program.
