Costs and Benefits of Power Pooling in California

摘要

The study was performed to determine if increased power pooling among California's four largest utilities would reduce costs and improve reliability. Benefits examined included reduced production costs, fuel oil savings, sharing emergency generation, and reduced need for new power plants. Pooling costs examined were for new control centers and transmission lines.
