The Validation Summary Report (VSR) for the CDC CYBER COBOL Compiler Version 5.3 R-518 (NOS/BE Version 1.3 R-499) provides a consolidated summary of the results obtained from the validation of the subject compiler against the 1974 COBOL Standard (X3.23-1974/FIPS PUB 21-1). The compiler was validated at the HIGH level of FIPS PUB 21-1. The VSR is made up of several sections showing the discrepancies found. These include an overview of the validation which lists all categories of discrepancies be level/module within X3.23-1974, a section relating the categories of discrepancies to each of the Federal levels of the language; and a detailed listing of discrepancies together with the tests which were failed.
