Restoration Analysis of Wapato Lake: An Evaluation of Dilution and Stormwater Control as Urban Lake Restoration Techniques

Wapato Lake, WA had excessive ceratophyllum, macrophytes, plankton, algal blooms and odor problems. Recommend putting dike across end of lake to create separate stormwater retention pond for diversion in summer storms. Also, dilute lake by adding water from municipal supply. Phytoplankton decreased in dilution chamber experiments. The report was prepared in partial fulfillment of the requirements of an EPA Clean Lakes Program grant.
