The storm sewers were diverted from Mirror and Shadow Lakes, Wisconsin, followed by alum treatment to halt sediment phosphorus release. Mirror Lake was artificially mixed to increase dissolved oxygen. Alum reduced phosphorus by 78% in Mirror Lake, and 57% in Shadow Lake. Transparency increased, especially in Shadow Lake. The report was prepared in partial fulfillment of the requirements of an EPA Clean Lakes Program grant.
