Comparative Study of FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) and USDA (Department of Agriculture) Data on Production, Area, and Trade of Major Food Staples

摘要

The differences between FAO and USDA statistics on production and area of the major staple food crops and those on cereal trade are examined. The study identifies the commodities and major countries for which wide data differences exist and measures the differences amoung countries, regions, economic groups, and world totals.
