Archaeological Investigations at Sanderson Canyon Watershed, Terrell, Pecos and Brewster Counties, Texas

Archaeological investigations in Sanderson Canyon, Texas have focused primarily upon developing a detailed chronology, describing the archaeological remains, and determining changes in the natural environment to which the prehistoric inhabitants adapted. Occupation occurred primarily during periods of population expansion in the Late Archaic when this marginal area was more inhabitable due to increased moisture and resultant food sources. It was occupied year round, and all maintenance activities are represented in the archaeological record.
