In-Depth Industrial Hygiene Survey Report on Styrene Exposure at the Bertram Yacht Company, Miami, Florida

Worker exposures to styrene (100425) and acetone (67641) were determined at The Bertram Yacht Company (SIC-3732) in Miami, Florida, on February 13 to 15, 1979. The survey was part of a NIOSH study of the health effects of occupational styrene exposure. Approximately 615 of the employees at the facility were assigned to the production area that was surveyed. The author recommends the initiation of a respiratory program, and the use of impermeable gloves by appropriate personnel.
