Disposal Techniques for Spilt Oil

Large oil spill incidents can result in extensive oil and oily debris disposal problems, which may require emergency action. A wide range of disposal techniques is available. In principle the aim should be to recover oil for re-use, using decomposition or destruction as a last resort. Users of this publication should, however, always take account of local conditions and legal constraints when assessing their actual or potential requirements.
