Precipitation and Streamwater Chemistry in an Undisturbed Watershed in Southeast Alaska

Precipitation and streamflow chemistry and volumes were used to develop elemental budgets for an undisturbed watershed in southeast Alaska. Total nitrogen accumulated at 1.4 kilograms per hectare per year. Other monitored elements showed a net loss of 0.2 kilograms per hectare per year of total phosphorus to 302 kilograms per hectare per year of calcium. The underlying bedrock types a-d attendant weathering accounted for elemental export.
