Characterization and Finite Element Formulation of Non-Homogeneous. Nonlinear Multiphase Viscoelastic Materials

Non-homogeneous, nonlinear multiphase viscoelastic materials constitute a special class of materials that is encountered in many important engineering applications, e.g. organic storage materials, some soils, etc. Under load, such materials produce finite deformations and flow of liquid and gas within the pores of the material. Herein a theory for deformation and two-phase flow in porous media is developed.
