摘要

Flood control measures taken along the upstream portions of the Kankakee River in Indiana have raised concerns over the quality of the Kankakee and its biotic communities after the river enters Illinois. This report documents qualitative and quantitative surveys of fish, invertebrate and plant species at sampling sites between the Indiana border and Kankakee, Illinois. It provides useful data for interpreting the probable effects which would arise if sedimentation resulting from flood control work in Indiana were to reach downstream portions of the river in Illinois.
