Pipeline Transportation of Solids: Recent Developments in Hydraulic Pipelines

The hydraulic transportation of solids in pipelines, despite many unsolved problems, is a well-established mode of bulk transportation. Due to the existence of commercial slurry pipelines and unsolved problems in this field, many articles on hydraulic transportation are at present being published. From a literature survey and from proceedings of conferences, a review of the present state of the art of hydraulic transportation of solids is presented. Publications were selected which were considered to be of particular interest to South African engineers involved in this field.
