Managing Archeology: A Background Document for Cultural Resource Management on the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, Arizona

摘要

Management implications for cultural resources on the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, Arizona, are addressed. The data base consists of a one percent sample of all lands above the Mogollon Rim and 10 years of block survey and excavation on various parts of the Forest. The nature of both historic and prehistoric resources is described along with potential impacts to those resources. A chapter on predicting cultural resource distributions, the nature of the archeological record, and management recommendations complete the volume.
