摘要

One of the purposes of the workshop, held in Boulder, Colorado on November 5-7, 1980, was to explore creative ways of meeting the challenges facing the marine data managers. Data are being collected in greater quantities, more sophisticated techniques are being used, the numbers of users and applications are growing, better hardware and software for data handling are becoming available, and there is a great responsibility for applying these data to solve the environmental and resource problems of the nation.
