Snaketown Revisited: A Partial Cultural Resource Survey, Analysis of Site Structure and an Ethnohistoric Study of the Proposed Hohokam-Pima National Monument

The report assesses the results of a partial cultural resource survey of the proposed Hohokam-Pima National Monument, presents an ethnohistoric study of its historic Pima component, the village of Ska'kaik, and analyzes newly assembled information on the changing site structure of Snaketown, the large prehistoric Hohokam village at the center of the proposed monument. After introducing these studies and presenting the research design that guided them, one chapter is devoted to the ethnohistoric study, three chapters treat the results of the survey of 1.1 square miles on the northern periphery of Snaketown, and six chapters present the analyses of Snaketown's site structures.
