Critical Lifetime Experiences of Entrepreneurs: A Preliminary Analysis

This report concerns the fundamental question of why some people chose to become entrepreneurs. Several divergent lines of inquiry have been started, all attempting to answer the question of why some individuals become venture initiators. While some researchers have looked at psychological characteristics and others at sociological environments, this paper concentrates on critical lifetime experiences of the entrepreneurs. It seeks to determine if the experiences that entrepreneurs have as children and young adults had any significant influence on their ultimate decision to own and operate their own enterprises.
