Durability of Structural Adhesives for Use in the Manufacture of Mobile Homes (Work in Progress): Sealant Test Report, Task VIII

摘要

This report presents a methodology and supporting data for the design of durable sealant joints in mobile homes. The method is based on the concept of allowable design strains for the sealant. The purpose of the study was to develop a procedure which will insure the integrity of sealants and caulks used in mobile homes for the economic useful life of the structure. Specifically, the sealants and caulks studied were gun - applied sealing compounds and extruded sealant tapes. The most important aspect of durability tested was the material's displacement capacity. Tabular data, graphs, charts, and illustrations are provided.
