Studies were undertaken to determine the potential for degradation of polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) by the naturally occuring microbial populations in aquatic environments. The investigation utilized laboratory and field studies to assess the PAH biodegradative capabilities of water column and sediment samples.
