Research on the Feasibility of a Multi-Channel Ultrasensitive Analyzer for Mineral Resources

摘要

A description is presented of a tandem accelerator-centered secondary ion mass spectrometer to be constructed for measurements in geological samples of stable isotopes at concentrations as low as one part per trillion. Some design philosophy of the proposed instrument is presented. The proposed instrumentation should have both the sensitivity and accuracy to allow the design today of a parts per billion to parts per trillion mass spectrometer having reasonable size and cost.
