This report contains the development of field test methodology, the validation testing, results and analysis of the mobile homes offered by three manufacturers for the measurement of mobile home stiffnesses with respect to transport distance. The testing program consisted of five major elements: permissible load and deflection range, replication error, variance among similarly constructed units, stiffness effects of major design variations, and stiffness effects of temporary stiffening. The purpose of the first three elements is to develop the test procedure and define its limitations and level of confidence. The purpose of the last two elements is to determine the stiffness contributions of various design considerations. Test findings are discussed in terms of these elements. Charts and tabular data are given.
