Conceptual and Analytical Models of Productivity Planning and Improvement in Manufacturing Companies

The planning phase of productivity management is discussed. Productivity planning in an organization entails the development of target levels of total and partial productivities for the organization as a whole and for its major operational units such as plants/divisions, products, and/or customers. Two types of productivity models are presented: (1) forecasting models and (2) optimization models. In addition, productivity and profit planning are integrated into a third type of productivity planning model. The facilities used in this research are listed.
