Acute Cardiovascular Effects of Neocarzinostatin (NSC-157365) Following Continuous Intravenous Infusion to Anesthetized Beaglehounds

Twenty-three healthy beaglehounds anesthetized with Innovar-vet and sodium pentobarbital were instrumented for measuring cardiovascular parameters. Dogs (6 per group except 5 for the intermediate dose) were given vehicle or 0.16, 0.31 or 1.25 mg compound/kg (3.2, 6.2 or 25.0 mg/sq M) body weight. Records were taken during 2 control periods, and at 5, 20, 40 and 60 minutes after termination of drug infusion. All dogs survived the 60 minutes of surveillance. No changes of subjective or statistical significance in any parameter occurred in response to the compound.
