Chattanooga Creek: The Occurrence and Distribution of Toxic Pollutants--September 1980

Chattanooga Creek is located in the southeast corner of Tennessee and northwest corner of Georgia. In spite of many improvements in pollution control, water in Chattanooga Creek remains severely polluted and recent investigations have revealed the presence of a large number of toxic pollutants. As a result of these findings, TVA conducted an investigation in September 1980 with the principal objective of determining the magnitude and distribution of toxic organic and inorganic contamination in the creek.
