摘要

The objective of the study is to explore alternative approaches to renovation and reuse of aging manufacturing facilities and to uncover factors which inhibit or promote reuse. Specific objectives are: (1) Case study examination of aging plants (2) evaluation and energy consumption, tax and public financing, land use and social impacts (3) construction of a model of plant closing decision-making (4) a plant evaluation check list and (5) policy recommendations based on research for plant closings. There are nine case studies included. Study is on two volumes.
