Evaluation of the Warren Spring Laboratory Vehicle Exhaust Gas Proportional Sampler

A vehicle exhaust gas proportional sampler has been developed by Warren Spring Laboratory for on-board vehicle use. The mass emissions of carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, total hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides from vehicles of engine capacities 1.3 to 2.0 litres have been determined using the proportional sampler and a Constant Volume Sampler (CVS); the vehicles were driven on a chassis dynamometer at steady-state speeds of up to 80 kph and to the European test drive.
