Labor-Supply Response to a Permanent Negative Income Tax Program

摘要

This paper demonstrates how the results from a temporary negative income tax experiment can be used to make inferences about the labor supply response to a permanent program and shows that these inferences depend on life-cycle earnings dynamics and NIT participation. Estimates are obtained using data from the Seattle and Denver Income Maintenance Experiments.
