Metal Flow in Induction Melting Furnaces - An Account of a Seminar Held at Capenhurst on 3rd November 1981

Aspects of metal flow in induction melting furnaces were discussed by speakers from ECRC and Cambridge Univ. working under contract to ECRC. The talks included: an introduction to metal flow in induction furnaces and related factors; electromagnetically induced flows in coreless induction furnaces with reference to aluminum- and copper alloys; flow patterns; scale factors related to modelling; and laboratory and theoretical modelling of flow. Discussion points were summarized and areas where further research and development are required were identified.
