摘要

The six New England States have about 6 percent of the U.S. population, spend approximately $18 billion in agricultural products. This report identifies 146 Federal food, agriculture, and nutrition programs which provided $5.7 billion in direct funding and indirect assistance to the New England region from 1971 through 1980. Recent changes in authority and appropriations will tend to reduce the program funds available for food assistance and dairy production.
