摘要

The objectives of the Pacific Northwest Innovation Group (PNIG) are discussed, including: (1) to create a mechanism for transferring technological innovations and new ideas among governmental agencies in the Pacific Northwest; and (2) to sponsor regional workshops, seminars, and training sessions to inform government agencies on developments in technical areas. Mechanisms used to achieve these objectives, PNIG organization, and its membership are examined. Projects undertaken by the group include: the exploration of local government applications of LANDSAT technology; a study of the feasibility of cogeneration at two of Vancouver's public facilities; and the publication of a resource catalog containing the names of persons with expertise in various functional categories. Lessons learned from the PNIG projects are summarized. Conclusions regarding PNIG's success are presented.
