摘要

The seminar/workshop held on November 24-30, 1979 in Suva, Fiji, inaugurated a joint program of the University of the South Pacific and the University of Hawaii under the International Sea Grant Program to seek solutions to marine problems facing the emerging nations of the tropical Pacific. The five topics included: Coral reef ecosystems; traditional patterns of utilization; present patterns of utilization and development; fisheries; and technology transfer and management guidelines.
