Habitat Suitability Index Models: Cutthroat Trout

Cutthroat trout (Salmo clarki) characteristics are described, including distribution, age, growth, food, reproduction and anatomy. A detailed literature review of specific habitat requirements is also included. 17 habitat variables are then evaluated and quantified in suitability index graphs. These data are subsequently synthesized into Habitat Suitability Index (HSI) models for the cutthroat trout. This is one in a series of publications developed to provide information on the habitat requirements of selected fish and wildlife species. HSI models are designed to provide information for use in impact assessment and habitat management activities.
