Summary Proceedings of a Planning Workshop on the Marine Natural Baits Industry, August 24-25, 1981, Charleston, South Carolina

The marine bait industry is an important industry throughout the Southeast region; however, documentation of the extent of its economic impact, its problems, and needs has previously been limited. This workshop, held in Charleston, South Carolina on August 24-25, 1981, was planned as a means of collecting needed information as well as enhancing communication between the industry and fishery management professionals. Papers presented were: Marine baitfish fisheries of Eastern Florida; Florida's marine bait industry; Georgia's bait industry; A description of natural marine bait utilization in South Carolina; South Carolina's marine bait markets; and Description of North Carolina marine bait industry.
