Summary of Results of the Ogallala Aquifer Regional Study, with Recommendations to the Secretary of Commerce and Congress

This publication contains a summary and recommendation of the Six-State High Plains Ogallala Aquifer Regional Study. The summary and recommendations are based on a cooperative federal-state project to study the depletion of natural resource of those parts of the States of Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas presently using the declining water resources of the Ogallala Aquifer and the declining energy resources from petroleum bearing formations. This study was in response to a request from Congress which is studying the serious economic effects of declining water resources in the area.
