Sources of National Prescribing Data from Hospitals. Volume 1. Results and Recommendations

摘要

The study investigated the feasibility of collecting data on drug use in 5 hospitals as a pilot test for a potential national audit of hospital drug utilization. Under the supervision of hospital pharmacists and pharmacy school professors, pharmacy students abstracted data from patient drug profiles maintained in the hospital pharmacies. These data included: patient demographics, diagnoses, source of payment, surgical procedures, drug, strength, route and doses.
