摘要

The report makes use of previous work to help calculate burst error rates. The class B noise model developed by Middleton is used to best model the highly impulsive noise of the mining environment. The model is used to determine combined error rates. The evaluation of data communication protocols for use in the mining environment is carried out and recommendations are given.
