Verification of Dynamic Modeling Methods by Proto-Type Excitation

This report presents the results of ambient vibration tests on 57 bridges, in an effort to improve the dynamic modeling of bridges. Natural frequencies and mode shapes were determined from these tests for each bridge. These results were then compared with results from a STRUDL analysis of the bridge. A system identification was also performed on selected bridges. Ambient vibration testing of bridges is discussed and the implications of the results obtained are discussed.
