摘要

During August to October 1980, NIOSH investigated exposures to silica among employees who clean bird cages at the Cincinnati Zoo. The investigation also included an epidemiological analysis of an apparently high rate of positive tuberculin (TB) skin tests among zoo employees. On the basis of the questionnaires and TB skin test records, NIOSH investigators determined that this was not an occupational health problem per se.
