The research assesses the impact of the proposed National Market System on the financing ability of firms of various sizes. The study encompasses the probability that the National Market System standards, as proposed, will eliminate some categories of securities from the new national exchange and that the lack of access to the exchange will be a significant constraint on the ability of a firm to raise equity capital.
