This Research Unit provides a method for assessing the informational significance of mining and mining-related historic structures built between 1847 and 1929 in 15 Utah counties: Carbon, Daggett, Duchesne, Emery, Grand, Juab, Millard, Piute, Salt Lake, Sanpete, Sevier, Summit, Uintah, Utah, and Wasatch. In addition to the actual process or business of working mines, this Unit also includes related activities of the industry and its work force.
