This manual treats the lichens found in the intertidal region from New Jersey to Newfoundland. Methods of collection, preparation, and study are briefly treated. Twenty-two species are covered, both in an illustrated key and an alphabetical listing, with brief descriptions and notes on ecology and distribution.
