摘要

This report presents the results of the five phases of work done on the electromagnetic compatibility of the audio-frequency train detection and cab signaling system (commercially known as the AF-400 system) with the Westinghouse Electric propulsion chopper. The authors note that a new audio-frequency receiver, which is immune to induced electromagnetic interference from the chopper equipment, has been designed, tested and successfully applied. The signalling system and the propulsion control chopper system are being used on the Baltimore Region Rapid Transit System and the Metropolitan Dade County Rapid Transit System. This report also includes information on the manufacturing, design and installation drawings, qualification test procedures and results, and field test procedures and results applicable to the audio-frequency signaling system.
