摘要

The report describes results of an archeological survey along 61 km of the northern and northeastern boundaries of Death Valley National Monument. Survey was undertaken here to identify cultural resources in a right-of-way for a fence to be built along northern stretches of the monument boundary, and assess impacts this would have on resources. During survey eleven sites were recorded, including eight prehistoric and three historic sites. Ceramics from three of the prehistoric sites date these to the Shoshonean period (A.D. 1200 - contact). Historic sites included a small site of uncertain function, a small mining camp, and a large site that appears to represent the town of Amargosa.
