Electrochemistry Research Needs for Mineral and Primary Materials Processing. Report of Workshop Held at University of Missouri-Rolla on June 5-7, 1983

Papers delivered at the workshop are organized into four sections: related electrochemical technology, fundamentals of electrometallurgy, fused salt electrometallurgy, and aqueous electrometallurgy. The papers focus on such topics as: electroplating, leaching, current distribution phenomena and modeling of electrochemical cells, anodic reactions in aqueous electrowinning, titanium electrowinning, electrocrystallization of metals research needs, and electrochemical phenomena in aqueous winning and refining. Among the topics identified for further research are lower cost refining methods, anode gas behavior, inexpensive wettable cathode materials, and non-consumable anodes. A list of attendees is included.
