Oil and Gas Field Code Master List User's Guide

This is the second annual Energy Information Administration (EIA) Oil and Gas Field Code Master List, reflecting data collected through November 1983. The publication provides a standardized code for all oil and/or gas fields throughout the United States. The field names and codes are to be used by respondents to complete the following major Department of Energy (DOE) surveys: Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Form 15; Interstate Pipeline's Annual Report of Gas Supply, filed by approximately 95 jurisdictional interstate natural gas pipeline companies; Form EIA-23, Annual Survey of Domestic Oil and Gas Reserves, filed by a sample of about 3,000 oil and gas well operators (field codes are required from about 575 larger operators only); and Federal Power Commission (FPC) Form 8/EIA-191, Underground Gas Storage Report, filed by approximately 90 natural gas producers and distributors who operate underground natural gas storage facilities.
