Reagan Administration Regulatory Achievements

Over the past two and a half years, the Administration, under the leadership of the Presidential Task Force on Regulatory Relief, has produced substantial improvements in federal regulatory policies and has laid a solid foundation for further reform during the years ahead. The Administration has rationalized the rulemaking process and slowed the growth of new federal rules, revised or eliminated hundreds of inherited rules, and commenced the revision of a number of regulatory statutes. The actions completed to date will yield savings of more than $150 billion dollars to consumers, businesses, universities, and state and local governments over the next ten years.
