Rapid-Set Epoxy Adhesive for Pavement Markers

Because of the increasing use of raised pavement markers, a need developed for a more rapid-setting epoxy adhesive to reduce the disruption of traffic during placement and permit greater tolerance of the climatic conditions under which markers are placed. A rapid-set epoxy adhesive, 118-AF, was developed under a Federal Highway Administration Office of Research and Development contract. The adhesive was subsequently evaluated in two states, Mississippi and Oklahoma, in a large scale field application.
