Determination of Velocity Measurement Correction Factors and Guidelines

This investigation summarized two primary issues: The determination and use of correction factors, and the development of guidelines for velocity measurement site selection. Other ancillary issues include a comparison of measurement methods and devices, aircourse cross-sectional area measurement, and characteristics of mine airways. An exhaustive literature search and analysis was performed, extensive in-mine experiments were conducted, and a quantitative analysis of the data was used to develop correction factor tables and site selection guidelines.
