Digital Microwave Transmission Tests at the Pacific Missile Test Center, Pt. Mugu, California

摘要

The report describes an experiment designed to measure the performance of digital microwave radio systems in a line-of-sight (LOS) link that is subject to strong atmospheric multipath. It outlines the measurements made to characterize the propagation medium, the status of space-diversity receiver systems equipped with switched combiners, and the burst-error statistics caused by the multipath environment. The results presented in this report compare the performance of two radios, operating simultaneously in the same transmission channel. Detailed error distribution data have not yet been analyzed.
